Calif. Supreme Court Upholds Proposition 8

Crowds gathered in San Francisco to hear the California high court's decision. Per Proposition 8, same-sex couples are not allowed to marry.

However, the marriages of 18,000 same-sex couples who have already married will continue to be recognized.
