Sacha Baron Cohen And Larry Charles Talk 'Bruno'

NPR: Arts & Culture  Tue, 11/17/2009 - 11:45

When Sacha Baron Cohen grants an interview, it's usually in character — as Borat, the clueless faux-Kazakh journalist, or as Bruno, the outrageously shallow, ostentatiously gay Austrian fashionista at the center of Cohen's most recent film.

Today, though, Cohen joins Fresh Air as himself, for a conversation with Terry Gross and Bruno director Larry Charles.

'Bruno' May Offend Gays, Others

NPR: Arts & Culture  Thu, 06/18/2009 - 14:00

The film Bruno, which is opening in a few weeks, is a satire about an over-the-top gay fashion victim starring Sacha Baron Cohen.

The studio has been pre-screening Bruno for gay activists and writers, hoping to derail charges of homophobia.

Judging from the trailer, however, there is a huge list of people this new movie could offend.
