This animation for adults is a moving tale narrating Marjane's childhood, a rebellious Iranian girl born in a liberal family yet growing up in a very oppressive regime.

This fictionalized memoir, based on Satrapi's graphic novel and drawn in black and white, informs about politics through the individual experience of the young girl.

The story begins in the late seventies, when the Iranian revolution ends the dictatorial regime of the Shah and brings the hope of freedom.
