Retirements Highlight Perils For Democrats

Democratic activists say the departures of Sens. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and Byron Dorgan (D-ND) should be a wake-up call for the party as it heads into this year's mid-term elections.

In the year since Barack Obama was elected president and Democrats took over both houses of Congress, the party has been steadily losing ground with voters.
