Senate Approves Measure To Extend Jobless Benefits

The legislation would give months of continued jobless checks to people who have been out of work for more than half a year and help the unemployed pay for health insurance.

The 62-36 vote came over protests from conservatives who say the bill adds too much to the $12.5 trillion national debt.
